Who runs competitions
Competitions are run by Kryptech Systems (Pty) Ltd, trading as BITE ZA ("the promoter"). These general rules apply to every BITE competition unless the campaign notice says otherwise.
Who can enter
- South African residents aged 18 or older with a BITE account in good standing.
- Directors, employees, sales reps, agents and suppliers of BITE, and their immediate families, cannot win (CPA section 36).
- Entry is free. Where entry requires an order, the order is the ordinary price with no extra charge for entering.
Each campaign notice states
- The start and end date and time.
- How to enter, and how many entries per person.
- The prizes and their value.
- How and when winners are chosen (for example a random draw).
- How winners are told, and how long they have to respond.
Winners
- Winners are chosen as the campaign notice says, and are contacted by phone or email.
- A winner who cannot be reached within 24 hours, or does not meet these rules, forfeits the prize and another winner may be chosen.
- Winners may need to show ID to confirm their age and identity.
- Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be transferred, unless the campaign notice says so.
- BITE may publish a winner's first name and initial, with their consent.
- BITE keeps competition records for 3 years (CPA regulations).
General
- BITE may cancel or change a competition if something beyond its control prevents it running fairly, and will publish the change.
- BITE may disqualify entries made by fraud, bots or multiple accounts.
- Winners' personal information is used only to run the competition and deliver the prize, under the Privacy policy.
